101 MINISTRY PROJECTS

Whenever we engage in any missions endeavor, it’s to help people understand that God starts with a cross. That’s the Christian message. That’s the message of His redeeming grace and love. That God so loved the world He sent His Son. God calls us to be on mission with Him. Our mandate is to share that message of hope with the entire world.

In 2011, WMU of Texas is launching Unhindered 101. We are asking you to step out by faith, moving beyond the walls of your church, to meet needs and share Christ. Please check back with us on March 1, 2011 for a full listing of Unhindered 101 Projects.

UNHINDERED 101 | STEP OUT! PROJECTS

Women’s Build
WMU of Texas will partner with Buckner to build an entire house for someone in poverty in the Rio Grande Valley. This will be an all women work crew. Mission Thailand
This fall, WMU of Texas will send a vision team to Bangkok to explore how we might partner with The Well ministry. Each year thousands of women and girls from poorer towns and villages in Thailand flock to Bangkok to work in bars, brothels and massage parlors. Some are sold outright by their families as slaves. Others are sent by their families to work in the lucrative tourist sex trade and return the majority of their income back home. This team will explore how WMU of Texas can impact this ongoing crisis as part of our human exploitation initiative. The cost per person is approximately $2,700. ON GOING PROJECTS

Recycle Inkjet Cartridges for Missions

This project is simple. Just collect and recycle inkjet cartridges. You can bring your empty inkjet cartridges to the WMU Annual Meeting. You can also request pre-paid Fed-Ex labels from WMU of Texas to collect and send inkjet cartridges year round. This year, the Mission Centers of Houston will benefit from your recycling efforts. Provide the Christian Women’s Job Corps of LifeBridge Austin with supplies needed to serve men and women. Items needed are: For the home: such as furniture, lamps, linens, decorative items, space heaters(in good, safe condition), pots and pans, twin size beds and clean mattresses, twin and queen size sheets/mattress pads-new or almost new, children’s comforters, blankets in great condition. Toiletries, diapers, baby wipes, ointments and baby toiletries. Household cleaning supplies and paper goods. such as toilet paper. Clothing: Current style clothing for women, children, and infants.
