WMU® believes that it is never too soon to get involved in missions. That’s why we offer a variety of ways to involve children in missions through Missions Education. This age-level organization tells stories of how God is working in the world today and teaches girls that they have a purpose in God’s plan. As children engage in relevant curriculum they will begin to develop a biblical worldview and global perspective. Children will also be taught the foundations of the Christian faith.

What is Girls in Action?

Girls in Action® (GAs) is an exciting and fun-filled missions education organization for girls ages 6-11 or grades 1-6. This provides an environment for active learning, scripture learning, and scriptural application through a Christ-based peer and prayer group for girls. GAs also serves as an opportunity for girls to develop leadership skills and engage in missions. As a result of using relevant curriculum the girls are able to receive Godly mentorship. Through learning experiences that teach the Biblical basis of missions churches have a great way to start a girls’ ministry in their local church.

Changing a girl’s heart through Girls in Action

Girls will learn how to demonstrate the missions concepts of praying, giving and doing missions. As a GA, girls will be able to learn how to develop a lifestyle of missions.  They will be able to learn about missionaries from all over their world and understand the work that they do in their country. Girls will be able to learn how to apply the Bible to their lives and learn how to pray and intercede for others. GAs cultivates an atmosphere of acceptance for girls and offers opportunities for parents to serve. This level of missions education will encourage girls to provide outreach to the community and the church.

“In Girls in Action I have learned many things. First, I have learned that you can pray to God about anything – even a pop quiz. I have learned that the Bible gives us instruction on how to live our lives. I have learned that people around the world may have different beliefs but we are all the same and that we need to go and tell the world about Jesus. I believe people will listen to us if they think it will change their lives.”

“Through the mission stories and a visit from a missionary when I was in third grade, I’ve learned that I can do missions in my own hometown.” – Caroline, age 12
